As part of the Bolivarian Government's actions to safeguard the Venezuelan population, the Ministry of Popular Power for Public Works and the Government of Apure state are carrying out the channeling of the Sarare River, with the support of the entity's Fire Department.

This intervention seeks to widen the left bank of the river, so that water flows more easily and will not enter curve three, a sector where a fracture of the containment dam occurred and caused an undermining.

This year, the authorities approved two works, one in the El Remolino sector and the other in curve three, where currently, a jumbo type machine makes a cut in the designated area; in addition, in the center of the riverbed, where a jet-type island is formed, two more machines operate to execute another cut.

Likewise, other machinery works to strengthen the containment dam, meaning that, in total, four heavy equipment works on site, with the objective of protecting the physical integrity and property of the inhabitants of the area.

These actions are part of the 2026 Rain Plan.
