The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, held a technical and institutional meeting with the senior authorities of the International Italian-Latin American Organization (IILA), in order to define the lines of strategic development that consolidate the country's scientific independence.

This important bilateral working group was attended by the organization's general secretary, Giorgio Silli and his advisor Ana Bonilla. Also present were the Venezuelan ambassador to the Italian Republic, María Elena Uzzo Giannattasio, and Deputy Minister Raúl Hernández.

The meeting served as an ideal space to strengthen ties of reciprocal cooperation in cutting-edge areas such as molecular biology, aerospace sciences, nanotechnology, biotechnology and the design of critical technologies for adaptation to the global climate crisis, branches of deep strategic interest for the sustainable development of both nations.

The publication of the ministerial body highlights that these high-level meetings are ethically based on mutual respect, sovereignty, self-determination and international solidarity in terms of innovation.

They also respond directly to the guidelines issued by the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, aimed at building complementary alliances that promote sustainable development, applied research and the integral well-being of our sister peoples in a sovereign manner.
