The Governor of the state of La Guaira, José Alejandro Terán, delivered 42 dental prostheses and 62 lenses with personalized frames to administrative workers and members of the Black Hipolita Mission on Wednesday.

Accompanied by the coordinator of the Hipolita Black Mission in the entity, Pedro Merentes; the Secretary of Social Protection, Pedro Rodríguez; and the director of Social Care of the Government, Víctor Delgado, the regional president asserted that it is “an act of social justice” with those who have the task of “embellishing this state more and more”.

“They are the ones who transform everything they touch with their hand for beauty, for good, and that's why the Smile Mission arrived with 42 prostheses and also the Miracle Mission with 62 lenses with their corresponding formulas,” he said.

Terán highlighted the work that the members of the Hipolita Black Mission do with the repair of schools, health centers, squares, cleaning streams, planting trees and the current rehabilitation of Paseo de Macuto.

“Everything their hands touch they embellish, they transform it for the better just as they are transforming their lives, just as they decided to give themselves a new chance to live, to be happy,” he added.

These attentions, he said, are part of instructions that he issued so that just as social protection is provided to the Guaireña population, the same must be done with the members of Negra Hipólita.

“I instructed a special social protection program for you that involves health care, a comprehensive approach and two great fundamental things: the Smile Mission and the Miracle Mission,” he added.

William Delgado, who received a pair of dental prostheses and overcame his addiction problems through this mission, said he now has “a better smile to bring to life.” “I feel that I am once again integrating into society and that for me is a great reward,” he said.
