The Ministry of Popular Power of Fisheries and Aquaculture reported the export of 14 containers containing 306 metric tons of seaweed from the International Port of El Guamache, in the state of Nueva Esparta, with the main destination being the markets of Chile and Tunisia.
A press release from the ministerial portfolio details that this operation strongly positions this strategic resource, consolidating the presence of Venezuelan marine products in international latitudes. The success of this shipment is the result of a productive alliance between the public sector and four leading companies in the island region: Tide, C.A., Agromarina Biorma Aquiculture, C.A., Isla Acuícola 0321, C.A. and Corporación de Alimentos Margarita, C.A.
The ministry, headed by Juan Carlos Loyo, highlighted that thanks to the commitment of the fishing people and the private sector, Venezuela is taking sustainable advantage of the high demand for this sector in the global pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.
