This Friday, May 02, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Sectorial Vice Presidents, at which it was decided that the Electricity Savings Plan to adjust working hours for the National Public Administration, implemented by the Bolivarian Government, is extended for two weeks due to the weather event of last March.
The measure is taken with the objective of contributing to the stability of the National Electricity System (SEN), in the face of the climate emergency that has caused a significant increase in temperatures worldwide, reported the Ministry of People's Power of Economy and Finance, in its account on the social network Insragram.
Also, during the meeting, they reviewed the Rain Mitigation Plan for the protection of Venezuelan families.
Another matter addressed was the actions implemented by the National Executive to protect the population, in line with the announcements made by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during the commemoration of Labor Day.
The authorities also highlighted the importance of Productive Engines, which are playing a crucial role in the generation of foreign exchange, in a challenging global context.
The meeting also made it possible to review the country's economic progress, reflected in a 9.32% growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2025.
In the social sphere, a 22% reduction in maternal mortality was reported since the beginning of the year.
In addition, the participation of two million 258 thousand students in the 19th National Student Games, representing 16 thousand educational institutions, was celebrated.
