Bolivarian Government guarantees supply of supplies in supermarkets after earthquakes

The Minister of Industry and National Trade, Luis Villegas, stated that commercial establishments and supermarkets are guaranteed the supply of supplies, food and basic necessities during the current period that the country is experiencing after the earthquakes that impacted the national territory.

In this regard, Villegas, during the supervision of establishments in the states affected by the earthquakes, specified that thanks to the articulated work, “we have already achieved the saturation of the supermarkets, we have managed to supply them and enter 17 more trucks”.

He also reported that a tour was carried out in the state of La Guaira to inspect the commercial spaces that were not damaged, with the aim of verifying that they are fully supplied with essential products to transmit peace of mind to the population .


“In less than four days they entered these spaces, we have been touring, seeing the commercial spaces that were not affected and all of them are fully supplied: the Vida supermarket, Bahía, Central Madeirense and Red Vital, supplied with food and medicines with essential products to transmit that tranquility to our people,” he said.

For his part, the president of the National Association of Supermarkets and Self-Services (ANSA), Ítalo Atencio, supported the normal scenario and highlighted the high social sensitivity of citizens in the face of the emergency.

The union representative noted during his visits to the different stores that, when reviewing the contents of the purchases, almost half of the products purchased in the carts by users were destined directly to the collection centers to support the affected families.
