The Bolivarian Government handed over the fully rehabilitated Andrés Eloy Blanco State Educational Unit, located in the Guaicoco sector, in the Petare parish, Sucre municipality in the state of Miranda.
This educational unit has an enrollment of 694 students, who now have optimal spaces to be able to develop academically.
The reinauguration was attended by the governor of the state of Miranda, Elio Serrano; the Minister of Popular Power for Education, Héctor Rodríguez; the head of the plan Antonio José de Sucre, Pedro Infante, and other authorities.
Serrano explained that this complete transformation was carried out thanks to the resources approved by the National Government after being chosen by the community as the projects to be executed, during the National Popular Consultation of 2024 and the first of 2025.
This educational center now has a Mega Center for Educational Robotics and a Science Classroom. In addition, the roof, walls, bathrooms, kitchen area, classrooms, façade, among others, were rehabilitated.
Serrano highlighted the importance of the participation of both students and the community in general in the rehabilitation process, with the support of the Dr. Jacinto Convit Commune.
“At Miranda, we are committed to education. In every commune and communal circuit, collective projects have been a reality. Seeing young people as pillars of this dream gives us a lesson about the promising future we have,” he said.
For his part, Minister Rodríguez praised the National Popular Consultation as a model of democratic participation. “This project not only solves local needs, but it also offers an example to the world of how we can exercise democracy differently,” he said.
“In Venezuela, we are creating methods that allow us to be protagonists in decision-making,” he emphasized.
Rodríguez also mentioned that the National Popular Consultation allows citizens to be involved in the definition of priorities, the execution and the control of resources, highlighting that Miranda has 400 communal circuits.
Meanwhile, the director of the U.E.E. Andrés Eloy Blanco, Miriam Mejías, explained that for five months, intensive work was carried out to transform this educational space for the benefit of the entire community.
