A multidisciplinary commission led by the governor of Apure state, Wilmer Rodríguez, and comprised of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Civil Protection, local mayors and producers, carried out a river inspection of the Matiyure and Arauca rivers.

In this regard, regional authorities explained that this current flows directly into the Payara River, which is currently dry, which guarantees that the waters flow boxed up and without the risk of overflowing.

On his account on the social network Instagram, the governor of the entity, Wilmer Rodríguez, offered a piece of total peace of mind for the Town of Biruaca and local producers, where he assured that the contingency is fully controlled due to low river levels.

He explained that this current flows directly into the Payara River, which is currently dry.

On the other hand, it was known that to mitigate the risk of flooding in the Achaguas municipality, sandbags are being placed on the retaining wall of the El Pescador and La Gloria sectors, in order to reduce the impacts of the Arauca River flood.
