Bolivarian government of Anzoátegui and communal power inaugurate fish processing plant

Thanks to communal organization, the work of popular power and women entrepreneurs linked to the Weaving Networks program, a plant for processing fish was inaugurated in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state.
The Women of the Sea in the Bay of Barcelona received funding for the construction of these facilities, from which this productive project that strengthens fishing activity and the communal economy is promoted.
The plant was inaugurated by Mayor Sugey Herrera, together with the governor of the state of Anzoátegui, Luis Marcano, and representatives of the councils of fishermen and women in the area.
Herrera stressed that this plant generates 25 direct jobs and 120 indirect jobs, integrating female fishermen who supply the raw material from the municipalities of Bolívar, Sotillo, Guanta and Urbaneja.
There are 12 Popular Power Councils for Fishermen, Aquaculturists and Aquaculturists who have benefited from this plant: Fernández Padilla, Caño Salao, Playa Maurica, Las Bateas de Maurica, Brisas de las Bateas, Caicara Somos Todos, Madre Vieja, Casco Central, Santa Rosa, Isla Borracha, Lucha y Resistencia and Cruz Guarache.
