Bolivarian Government provided equipment to the traumatology service of the University Hospital of Los Andes

The areas of Traumatology and Gastroenterology at the Instituto Autonomo Hospital Universitario de los Andes (IAHULA), in Mérida, received supplies to guarantee free care and hospital quality.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Health, the Traumatology emergency service received a shipment of more than 2,000 units of material, including plaster, wadding, gauze and bandage whose objective is to ensure a timely and effective response for all patients admitted with pathologies that require immobilization.

In addition, supplies were provided to the gastroenterology service, which received the necessary material to cover the monthly average of endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. These drugs include Midazolam and Flumazenil; biosafety and cleaning material, gloves, surgeon's gowns, washcloths and quaternary ammonium.

During the approach, Dr. Moraima Salazar, Single Health Authority, reported that the pacemaker inventory was thoroughly reviewed and applicant patients were registered. “The respective requests will be processed before the Ministry of People's Power for Health (MPPS), for the assignment of specific devices, according to the heart pathology of each beneficiary,” he said.
