The Bolivarian Government carried out a technical deployment in the peasant councils of the rural areas of the municipality of El Hatillo, Miranda state, through the Institute for Advanced Studies Foundation (IDEA), an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology (MINCYT).
The activity was framed in the celebration of Agricultural Engineer's Day and in compliance with the commitments made during the Trainer of Trainers workshop: Cultivating Science at IDEA, MINCYT reported on its website.
During this first phase of monitoring, the team from the Directorate of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty (ASA) carried out an inspection and collection of phytosanitary samples on the plots of producers José Mendoza, José Gregorio Rueda and Luis Morales, in order to establish a protocol for evaluation, control and permanent monitoring of the various sectors, allowing the optimization of crop performance through the application of applied science to the field.
During the tour, the experts identified the presence of pathologies in citrus crops; faced with this scenario, the importance of scientific advice for the proper management of plantations was reaffirmed.
For her part, the head of the Office of Citizen Services (OAC) of the IDEA Foundation, Marielsi Hidalgo, stressed that these meetings seek to consolidate strategic alliances between Popular Power and the scientific community.
“Our approach prioritizes urban, communal and sustainable agriculture. We want to provide producers with technological tools and knowledge that strengthen their productive activity, directly contributing to the country's food security and sovereignty,” he said.
