Bolivarian Government quantifies and coordinates actions to address damage after US attack

The sectoral vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, led a technical meeting to quantify the damage and coordinate response actions following the attacks recorded on Venezuelan territory on January 3, 2026, by the United States military forces.
The Minister of Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, and the Minister of Ecosocialism, Ricardo Molina, participated in the meeting, with the objective of prioritizing attention to citizen welfare.
During the day, he explained that the attacks affected critical infrastructures, specifically the central warehouses of the Port of La Guaira, Jiménez reports on his Instagram account.
The official report, the attack caused the destruction of essential supplies destined for the national dialysis and nephrology program. “directly compromising the medical care of more than 16,000 Venezuelan patients who depend on these supplies for their treatment,” Jiménez said.
In addition to the impact on the health sector, material damage suffered at various centers of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) was evaluated.
The sector vice-president expressed her support for the initiative of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, to submit to the National Assembly a legislative package that includes laws on Artificial Intelligence, Natural and Ancestral Medicine, Digital Rights and Cybersecurity.
Minister Jiménez stressed that the country's scientific and technological policy is oriented towards the development and preservation of life, contrasting it with the use of technology for war purposes.
In this regard, he reaffirmed the position of the executive cabinet to maintain national independence in the face of external actions.
