The governor of Anzoátegui, Luis Marcano, led the delivery of Freites, Maturín and Ricaurte streets, road arteries that belong to the 13 strategic intersections that will be intervened through the Barcelona My City Plan to optimize public services and strengthen the beautification of the jurisdiction.

During a tour of the recovered areas together with the mayor of the municipality Simón Bolívar, Sugey Herrera, the regional president highlighted the painting work and the implementation of basic services that not only transform the infrastructure, but also highlight the identity of Barcelona, which is part of the history and tourism of the entity.

Marcano assured that this space, currently in full renaissance, is consolidated as one of the busiest and most attractive in the state of Anzoátegui thanks to an intervention that includes: rehabilitation of a 75-meter collector, restoration of facades and aesthetic improvements, incorporation of the Barcelona Digital system and installation of luminaires, construction of access ramps and installation of podotactile guides for people with reduced mobility.

The mayor stressed that these actions, carried out in conjunction with the Bolivarian Government, are also aimed at boosting the country's economic growth.

“During the tour we saw new stores in the center of Barcelona. This speaks, first of all, of a process of economic recovery that is under way in Venezuela, but also of the articulation that makes it easier for entrepreneurs and businessmen to invest. Where we have to continue to support and accompany, we are going to do it,” said Marcano.

Finally, the governor emphasized that this growth allows the state to attract resources that are reinvested in concrete works for all the inhabitants of the Simón Bolívar municipality.
