Through a special day that included services in general medicine, gynecology, physiatry, ultrasound and other specialized health areas, more than 900 women of the indigenous Kariña ethnic group received care in the town of Santa Fe, in Cumaná, in the state of Sucre.
The social day was organized by the Institute for Indigenous Peoples of the state of Sucre in coordination with the Regional Foundation for Health (FUNDASALUD), in compliance with the number one summit of the Great Mission of Venezuela Women (GMVM), created by President Nicolás Maduro, to guarantee the protection of women in all its stages.
“We guarantee that women have access to all medical services free of charge, providing care in more than nine specialties,” said Fanny Silva, state manager of the number one summit in a press release from the regional government.
He stressed that these actions comply with the social policies promoted by the Government, with the purpose of strengthening the welfare state of this sector of society, in the face of sanctions and imperial measures applied against the nation by extremist countries.
