Venezuela expressed its gratitude to the former president of Mexico, Manuel López Obrador, for his message of solidarity with the Venezuelan people, the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reported.

Through his Telegram channel, Gil indicated that the Bolivarian Government appreciates the strong voice of López Obrador, who reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of freedom and respect between peoples, at a time when external aggressions against Venezuela are intensifying.

The former Mexican president said that, although he has retired from politics, his convictions force him to speak out against attacks on Venezuelan sovereignty. He stressed that neither Bolívar nor Lincoln would accept a government acting as a global tyranny.

Addressing the President of the United States, López Obrador warned that politics cannot be reduced to imposition and recalled Benito Juárez's teaching: “Respect for the rights of others is peace.” He reiterated his pride in being Mexican and Latin American and expressed his unconditional support for President Claudia Sheinbaum.
