Bolivarian Government thanks Russian solidarity in the defense of national sovereignty

Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, from his telegram channel, expressed, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, thanks Russia for its solidarity in the defense of our sovereignty.

“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the Government of the Russian Federation for its valuable support for President Maduro's efforts to defend the sovereignty and interests of the Venezuelan people in the face of warmongering and illegal threats and actions of the United States administration in the Caribbean,” he said.

He added in the text that “we value your unwavering support in preserving the Zone of Peace in the Caribbean and in promoting economic, political and social stability throughout the region.”

The publication is accompanied by a video by the spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, who denounces that the actions of the United States in the Caribbean constitute “legal chaos” contrary to international law that directly threatens the global legal order. According to the diplomat, Washington has increased its military presence around Venezuela and implemented a de facto naval blockade.

Faced with this scenario, the official said: “we reaffirm our support for the efforts of the Government of Nicolás Maduro to protect his sovereignty and national interests and maintain the stable and secure development of his country.”
