Bolivarian Government will re-establish passability in Mérida's trunk roads

After the inspection carried out in the sectors affected by the rains of the last 24 hours in the state of Mérida, the Minister of the People's Power of Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, reported that the passages through the damaged trunks will be restored, in addition to the installation of war bridges.

He pointed out that the actions will guarantee passability for the passage of food, fuel and the distribution of crops to agricultural producers in the Páramo axis, according to the Última Noticias portal.

For his part, the Minister of the People's Power of Public Works, Juan José Ramírez, said that a tour was taken from Las González, passing through the municipalities of Libertador, Campo Elías, Santos Marquina, Rangel and the rest of the affected areas to carry out the evaluation and comply with the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in solving the emergency due to the rains in the state.

Also present at the damage assessment were the Minister of Popular Power for Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, together with the national liaison of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Mérida, Mervin Maldonado, the governor of the entity, Arnaldo Sánchez, and the commander of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI), Bencir Guerrero Ochea.

Sánchez confirmed that 12 municipalities were affected and are already being served by security, social prevention, infrastructure and housing work teams.

He emphasized that there are no reports of human losses and called for calm to the entire population and to be attentive to the guidance of the authorities.
