This Sunday, the second round for the election of the president and vice-president of Bolivia takes place, with the strong candidates the centrist Rodrigo Paz Pereira and the extreme right Jorge Quiroga.
Polling stations across the country began to open at 08.00 local time (12.00 GMT) and must operate for eight uninterrupted hours until 16.00 (20.00 GMT), when they are expected to close.
The oversight of voting in the country is carried out by some 204,000 jurors for 35,253 polling stations, according to data from the electoral body.
According to international press reports since the enactment of the new Constitution in 2009, in Bolivia there were three general elections in 2009, 2014 and 2020, in which the winners exceeded 50% of the votes, so until now there was no need for a second round at the national level.Mazo News Team
