Bolivia sends contingent of rescuers and six tons of humanitarian aid to Venezuela

The Government of Bolivia announced the dispatch of an official assistance mission to Venezuela, consisting of 20 soldiers specialized in search and rescue tasks, together with a shipment of six tons of humanitarian aid to deal with the emergency caused by the earthquakes of last June 24.

The solidarity shipment consists of non-perishable food, drinking water, essential medicines and essential medical supplies for the affected population in disaster areas.

According to the official schedule, the operations of the Bolivian contingent on the ground will last seven days, guaranteeing five full days of effective work to rescue and remove debris in critical areas.

On the other hand, the authorities coordinate the logistics for the return trip of the military aircraft, which will be used to repatriate up to 60 Bolivian citizens who are in Venezuelan territory, subject to air operating conditions and the terminals deployed for the contingency.
