In the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), this Friday, announced the start of biometric registration of new voters, with security guarantees for the voter roll ahead of the general elections scheduled for August 17, 2025.
The interim president of the TSE, Francisco Vargas, at a press conference, explained that the process starts this Friday, April 18 and will run until Wednesday, May 7: “For 20 days we are going to tour the country with brigades and fixed points so that no one is left out of the biometric standard, that pattern that is sometimes questioned, that is uninformed, but that from the Electoral Body we can affirm that it is highly safe to carry out the elections”.
Vargas explained that in Bolivian territory, biometric registration will cover 100% of the electoral seats.
To this end, an extensive operational infrastructure was deployed, including fixed and mobile points, megacenters and mobile brigades, with the participation of 2,665 people.
