This Wednesday, Brazil's health minister, Nísia Trinidade, reported that on March 2, a large mobilization will take place across the South American country to combat the dengue epidemic.
Under the slogan “Brazil United Against Dengue”, this campaign will disseminate various actions aimed at advising the population on preventive measures to stop the spread of this disease.
“There is a significant increase in the number of cases, with an atypical pattern at the beginning of the year. We evaluated the possibility that this increase is due to factors such as climate change and the circulation of more than one serotype of dengue,” said Trinidade.
According to public information on the Xinhua website, so far, in 2024, there are close to 1 million cases, of which 7,771 are considered serious, 196 people have died and 672 deaths are under investigation.
