This Wednesday, the Brazilian airline GOL announced the resumption of its flights between São Paulo and Caracas, suspended in November following a security alert issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

GOL inaugurated the route in August 2025 and it was interrupted just three months later, in parallel with the suspension of operations of most international airlines in Venezuela.

In this regard, the return of GOL responds to the announcement of the President of the United States (USA), Donald Trump, who on January 29 confirmed the resumption of air connections with Venezuela, after establishing one-call conversations with the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, who assured that “all airlines are welcome to the country”.

With the return of the São Paulo-Caracas route by GOL, air connectivity between Venezuela and Brazil, strategic for trade and tourism, is reinforced. The measure also helps to normalize international traffic to Caracas, after months of restrictions.

Gol set up a schedule of four weekly flights, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The São Paulo hub, located mainly at Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), will serve as a strategic bridge for those looking for immediate connections.

Among the cities that travel with the Brazilian airline are: Buenos Aires (Argentina), Montevideo (Uruguay), Asunción (Paraguay), Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia).

The advisor to the presidency of GOL, Alberto Fajerman, said that this return is part of an expansion plan where the company has increased its international capacity by 20%, adding more than 730 thousand additional seats to its global offer.
