This Tuesday, the Government of Brazil described as “unacceptable” and “repugnant” the statements of the Israeli Foreign Ministry against South American President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who last Sunday compared the actions of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip with the death of Jews in the Second World War at the hands of the regime of Nazi Germany of Adolf Hitler.

In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, stated that “the demonstrations of the head of the foreign ministry of the government of (Benjamin) Netanyahu, yesterday and today, are unacceptable in form and lie in the background.”

“That the Foreign Ministry addresses the head of state of a friendly country, President Lula, in this way is unusual and repugnant. The fact that a chancellery systematically resorts to distorting statements and lying is offensive and serious. It's a shameful page in the history of Israeli diplomacy, resorting to rude and irresponsible language,” said Vieira.

In addition to the Foreign Minister of the Amazon Giant, he stressed that “both the Israeli ambassador in Brasilia and the Netanyahu government have been informed that Brazil will react diplomatically, but firmly, to any attack it receives, now and always.”

This statement by the Brazilian diplomat is due to the fact that this Monday the Government of Israel declared the South American president a “persona non grata”.
