The first edition of the BRICS International Wine Competition will be held in Moscow in 2026, with the support of all member countries.

Pavel Maiorov, Deputy Executive Director of the Russian Winegrowers and Winemakers Association (AVVR), announced that the competition will initially be held in the Russian capital and will later be organized in conjunction with the Union's summits in the host countries.

The news was released by Roscongress through its Telegram channel, which indicated that preparations are already under way for the distribution and certification of the winning wines.

The competition will allow the participation of producers from member countries, as well as partners and observers. In the case of Russia, only wines with the “Russian Wine” label will be accepted.

The launch of the competition represents an important step towards the formation of a BRICS Wine Association.
