From October 29 to 31, 2025, the BRICS International Municipal Forum will be held in St. Petersburg, bringing together more than five thousand participants from 50 countries.

The forum will serve as a platform for dialogue between cities in the BRICS countries and for the promotion of new formats of international cooperation.

The Minister of the Government of Moscow and head of the Department of Economic, Foreign and International Relations, Sergey Cheriomin, will moderate the sessions “Russia - India” and “Municipal cooperation as an engine of regional integration and international economic relations”.

In addition, Cheriomin will participate in the debates “Russia - China: Urban Diplomacy in an Era of Change” and “Parliamentary Diplomacy of BRICS Capitals in Times of Global Transformation as an Instrument for Preserving Investments”.

“To date, the participation of 50 senior officials from Eurasia, Africa and Latin America has been confirmed, and we are still working. More than 1,500 foreign delegates have applied for accreditation and 700 are in the process of being confirmed and reviewed,” said Cheriomin.

In 2025, the event will be held in synergy with the “Russian Industrial” fair-forum, where developers of regional programs will be able to communicate directly with companies and investors. According to Cheriomin, this will create a “solutions market” where participants can not only exchange experiences, but also leave St. Petersburg with ready-made projects and agreements reached for the development of their territories.
