This Friday, it was announced that the healthcare system in Argentina is going through a profound crisis that directly affects its reference institutions in cancer treatment and research due to the neoliberal policies of the Javier Milei government, as reported by Telesur on its Telegram channel.

In this regard, attention has been drawn to the vulnerable situation faced by specialized centers due to a budget freeze that has not received updates since November 2024. The lack of resources makes it impossible to cover minimum operating costs, jeopardizing the operation of hospitals that are pillars in the fight against this disease in the Southern Cone.

Federico López Ponsati, delegate of the Internal Health Commission, reported to local media that the landscape is critical for patients. The spokesman explained that the absence of funds, in a context of high inflation in the southern country, has generated a financial gap that makes it impossible to purchase essential medical supplies.

In addition, this deficit affects the maintenance of high-tech equipment necessary to carry out radiation therapy and precision diagnostics, essential for the survival of those affected.

The impact of this financial paralysis is direct and alarming, since these health centers receive patients from all Argentine provinces and even neighboring countries because of their high level of specialization. The lack of financial resources translates this Friday into the interruption of vital treatments and the postponement of scheduled surgeries, leaving thousands of people in a situation of extreme defenselessness in the face of a pathology that does not allow administrative or political delays.

Health workers and patients' families demand from the Argentine national government an urgent readjustment of financial allocations to avoid the cessation of key services.

The current situation is seen as a reflection of the general deterioration of public institutions in that nation, where the lack of state investment is compromising the fundamental right to health and life of the most vulnerable citizens.
