Cabello: Aggressions against Venezuela only seek to take over our natural resources

The aggressions of imperialism against our country have always been because they want to seize our natural resources, said the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón.

“We have received attacks of all kinds. Nobody refers to drug trafficking anymore, the recent threats and aggressions are meant to be taken with our natural resources,” he said during the continuation of the Extraordinary Plenary of the V Congress of the PSUV.

He also assured that in Venezuela there is a political sector that defends our sovereignty at all costs, while another one willing to hand over our wealth to imperialism persists. “They can't stand two requests to kneel down before imperialism and give it the resources we have in Venezuela as a gift,” he said.

In this regard, he recalled how at the end of the last century, those same stateless groups were the ones who allowed the United States to take from our country, without paying a cent, all the asphalt necessary to cover New York City.

“They took him out through Caño San Juan in Caripito, there they made a deep port and took our resources out there,” he said, while assuring that this situation ceased with the coming to power of the Supreme Commander, Hugo Chávez.
