Cabello: As leaders, we have a historic responsibility to the people

During the extraordinary plenary session of the V Congress of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Youth of the PSUV, the general secretary of the red awning, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reaffirmed to the leadership the historical responsibility they have with the Venezuelan people.

“We, as leaders, have a historic responsibility to our people,” he said, reaffirming that the political leadership of the Bolivarian Revolution must always set an example and not just be in office.

In addition, he questioned those who are in politics only for one position and when there are elections they are scored for all of them. “I'm almost certain that when we have to face an enemy with weapons, they don't appear anywhere (...) but those who are there every day will say they are present today, tomorrow and always,” he said.

He reaffirmed that revolutionaries must be “detached from what we are and what we have (...), a leader must always set an example”, recalling that Commander Hugo Chávez was like that.
