The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that Friday that the People must exercise office in the country, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.

During his participation in the Great Congress of the Bolivarian Historical Bloc, Cabello emphasized that the Bolivarian Revolution consolidates the change from bourgeois democracy to participatory and leading democracy. “We are obliged to leave to young people a free, sovereign, truly independent country,” he emphasized.

In this regard, he stated that the Bolivarian Government is the only one capable of guaranteeing it and “if it is the people who rule, that the People exercise sovereignty to make them rule. Nobody can bother here, and my brother mayors and governors forgive me, but if we believe that we are going to make a revolution with the figure of mayors and governors, we are screwed up against it,” he said.

Cabello stressed that “it's not that way, we're going to make a revolution together with the People, with the People in charge, with the People deciding, with the People doing it, with the People being able to”.
