The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured that the Government led by President Nicolás Maduro responded to his Argentinian counterpart in a reciprocal manner and within the framework of the law.

“After the decision of the Argentine Government led by Javier Milei to hand over the Venezuelan plane of the company EMTRASUR to the United States, which dismembered it, “the Bolivarian Government made the sovereign decision that no aircraft registered in that country can pass through Venezuelan airspace,” Cabello explained during its Con El Mazo Dando #468 program.

“This is decided by a sovereign government, the government of President Nicolás Maduro made a decision within the framework of the reciprocity that exists when there are actions of this nature,” he stressed.

In that regard, Cabello asked: Did Milei hurt you a lot? Why did they take our plane away from us? Why didn't they return it?

Venezuela responded within the framework of legality. Milei will have to explain to the owners of the airlines that they now have to pay for more fuel and do more maintenance to the planes,” he continued.

He added that due to this legal ban in Venezuela, “now trips are going to be longer, aircraft fuel consumption is going to be greater.”

In that sense, he argued that this is not Venezuela's fault, “because when the Argentine Government carried out an action of that nature, such as delivering a plane that belonged to our country, they are telling us that Venezuela has the right to respond.”
