Cabello invites the National Consultation of the Law against Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions

This Tuesday, August 13, the head of the Homeland Bloc in the National Assembly (AN), Diosdado Cabello, extended the invitation to participate in the consultation of the Leyagainst Fascism, Neo-Fascism and Similar Expressions.

“Starting tomorrow (Wednesday) the consultation begins Leyagainst Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions (...) I invite all the deputies who are here, I invite the People of Venezuela, the members of the opposition who are present here, to actively participate in the discussion of this law, for subsequent approval in this National Assembly,” said Cabello during the Ordinary Session of the AN, where he indicated that they will soon publish the consultation schedule.

He stressed that the Leyagainst Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions was presented by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, on April 2, 2024, but due to the country's electoral dynamics, the consultation had not taken place.

“As we said the previous month, if you're not a fascist, don't worry, if you're not a neofascist you shouldn't worry either, if you don't have similar expressions of hate you shouldn't worry either, fascists, neofascists and the usual haters should worry,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of this Law, recalling the hatred and violence that the Venezuelan extreme right has driven in the country in recent days. In addition, he indicated that this sector “does not believe in electoral processes, does not recognize the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) or the CNE (National Electoral Council), does not recognize institutions.”

In this way, he reaffirmed that the application of this Law will be of paramount importance to ward off from Venezuela the scourge of fascism, neofascism and any expression of hate.
