The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, paid tribute to the security forces who thwarted the so-called Operation Gideon, an attempt to invade Venezuela's sovereignty.
During the event that took place in the State of La Guaira, Cabello highlighted the courage and commitment of the men and women who faced the threat on the front line, recalling the importance of unity and resistance in the face of any adversity.
“Let's make any day a dawn on May 3, in which all together we are capable of defeating any adversary,” he said.
In addition, the sector vice-president pointed out that Operation Gideon was financed by Colombian drug trafficking, under the direction of Iván Duque, without success in its purpose. In this regard, he questioned the lack of investigations by international organizations to determine responsibilities, assuring that “imperialism is behind all this”.
Cabello stressed that, despite the resources allocated to the failed operation, the extreme right did not achieve its objectives.
“If they couldn't five years ago, today fewer will be able to. The longer time passes, the stronger we will be and the weaker they will be,” he said.
He called for the unity of the police, the military, the People and the Militia, stressing that the path of freedom and sovereignty must remain firm.
“This is Bolívar's path, the path of true independence. We must stand together as one great block to face any enemy and under any circumstances. We will win,” he said.
