Cabello: More than 16,308 kilos of cocaine have been seized in an anti-drug operation carried out in Zulia

As part of the operation carried out by the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and State Security Agencies against drug trafficking mafias operating in the state of Zulia, 16,308 kilos of high-purity cocaine have been seized, said the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.

During a press conference held this Friday, the head of the Interior Ministry said that in recent operations, uniformed personnel seized a total of 16,441 kilos of cocaine, as well as boats and vehicles for transporting drugs.

He stressed that in the first operation to reach this total it was in the La Cañonera sector, where 353.3 kilos of cocaine were seized; in a second procedure, 1,200 kilos of liquid cocaine were seized; then 2,075 kilos of cocaine; in a fourth procedure, 53.5 kilos of drugs were seized; in a fifth action, 3,960 kilos of cocaine were confiscated.

“The first seizures were 9,866 kilos of cocaine, plus the 16,441 that I'm announcing now totaling 16,308 kilos with 10 grams,” he emphasized while stating that the country's authorities will not rest in their fight against drug trafficking.

Cabello also identified former presidents Álvaro Uribe and Iván Duque as the leaders of this drug trafficking operation using our territory.
