Cabello on Isaías Rodríguez: The courageous prosecutor is gone!

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, during the broadcast of the Con El Mazo Dando program, highlighted the historic struggle of the famous Revolution, Isaías Rodríguez, who died last Sunday at 82 years of age.

“Isaías Rodríguez left us, the courageous prosecutor. He had the courage to go out and say that there was a coup d'etat, that's what good men are like,” Cabello said.

The former prosecutor played a decisive role in reversing the coup d'etat of April 11, 2002, when he denounced to the world that it was a de facto coup against the constitutional government of Commander Hugo Chávez, and in denying the president's resignation.

Rodríguez, in addition, was a constituent, elected twice, in 1999 and in 2017. He also served as Venezuelan ambassador to Italy.
