The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) supports the measure taken by the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (SAIME) to withdraw documentation from the opposition Yon Goicochea, following his request for foreign military intervention against the country, said the secretary general of the political organization, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
“The SAIME is acting in accordance with the requests made by the National Government,” he said during the press conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV.
Cabello reiterated that any Venezuelan who promotes war actions against the nation will have to face the legal consequences of the case. “Anyone who invokes bombing or foreign forces to attack Venezuela will receive the full weight of the law,” he said.
In this regard, he recalled that article 130 of the Constitution establishes the duty to honor and defend the homeland, its symbols, cultural values, sovereignty, nationality, territorial integrity, self-determination and national interests. “Whoever violates this mandate, enlisting in foreign armies or requesting aggression against their own country, is renouncing the principles that define their nationality,” he added.
The revolutionary leader emphasized that the Venezuelan State, in the exercise of its constitutional powers, has taken concrete decisions and that any citizen who does not agree can go to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
“The National Government has asked the Supreme Court to clarify what is established in the Magna Carta, because some people pretend to ignore it,” he said.
