The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that this political organization maintains a clear and defined program in defense of the country
“We have three priorities, three priorities, three priorities: The first, the release of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores; the second, tranquility and peace in the national territory; and the third, ensuring sustainable economic development in our country,” Cabello said during the press conference of the National Directorate of the PSUV.
He stressed that these lines of action guide the party's political and social work, especially in a context in which some actors are trying to take advantage of the events that occurred on January 3. “History will not forgive them because they look like opportunists, like miserable opportunists,” he said.
The revolutionary leader reiterated that the PSUV fully supports the decisions and actions of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez.
“The United Socialist Party supports all the initiatives that comrade Delcy Rodríguez is doing for the stabilization and tranquility of the country,” he said.
He recalled that the president in charge gave priority to the creation of a social fund aimed at directly helping the Venezuelan people, which are already in the execution phase.
Cabello also referred to the debate on the partial reform of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law and explained that the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, indicated that the proposal aims to update the legal framework in accordance with the Anti-Blockade Law, without compromising constitutional principles.
“There is nothing where the country jeopardizes what is established in the Constitution. We maintain sovereignty over our resources, that's very clear,” he said.
He criticized the sectors that now intend to defend the Constitution, despite having attacked it in the past.
“I am surprised by those who burned the Constitution, who burned the laws, and today they come out to defend them just to be against the country,” he said.
Cabello stressed that the reform aims to strengthen the oil industry and create jobs in producer states.
“Ask the people of Anzoátegui, Falcón, Zulia or Monagas if they want sources of employment and development for the oil industry. That's where Chavistas and not Chavistas are going to raise their hands,” he said, stressing that oil activity promotes a productive chain that benefits the entire population.
