Cabello: Plenary of the V Congress of the PSUV is a permanent exercise to assume the tasks of the Revolution

This Tuesday, November 4, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed that the convening of the Fifth Congress of the Red Awning is part of the party's permanent and pre-existing exercise to assume the vital tasks of the Bolivarian Revolution.

“We have had tasks, it has been a permanent call, and we have been meeting to take on tasks,” he said.

In this regard, he highlighted the total success of the internal method for choosing candidates, a demonstration of the direct democracy that characterizes Bolivarianism.

This was stated at the Extraordinary Plenary of the V Congress of this Political Organization and Youth (JPSUV), at a day led by the president of the red awning, Nicolás Maduro.

During his speech, Cabello took stock of the subject matter discussed. “The Revolution has won one after other resounding triumphs for different positions, up to the Presidency of the Republic, which represented a new victory for the Bolivarian Revolution,” he said.

He recalled that the inauguration of the new elected National Assembly, scheduled for next January 5th, is pending, thus reaffirming the full validity of revolutionary institutions.

Regarding the threats and the constant siege of the United States against the country, he ratified the party's role as a fundamental vanguard in the Integral Defense of the Nation.

Cabello stressed that the PSUV militancy declared itself on high alert, in response to the President's bold and clear call to face the new situation.

In that scenario, he emphasized that the red awning “was brought to order and we have mobilized throughout the national territory, we have participated in every corner of Venezuela.”

He also alerted the People to the real possibility that the struggle for sovereignty could move from an unarmed confrontation to an armed struggle, which would involve the total mobilization of the People to defend Independence.
