Cabelló Rondón on the Cartel of the Suns: It's a narrative and not an argument

The Sectorial Vice President for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reiterated that the Cartel of the Suns never existed and that it is a narrative, not an argument for an attack that left more than 100 people murdered.

“The argument for the attack is oil, our wealth,” Cabello Rondón said during a press conference.

He explained that the argument is something that has a basis, and the subject of the Cartel of the Suns has no basis whatsoever, so it is a narrative, “a great lie used by some sectors and that was denied by themselves.”

He also emphasized that “we have never been alluded to by the subject of the Cartel of the Suns or criminal gangs, but when it comes to wealth, Venezuela does have a lot of wealth and with that we do feel totally alluded to.”

“We have given consecutive blows, sudden blows to the drug issue, they know, that drugs are not happening here right now. Let them look elsewhere,” he added.

Cabello Rondón said that the Bolivarian Government's struggle will remain the same, “for the tranquility and peace of the country,” in that sense, he said that in Venezuela there are security forces that know how to do their job, there are men and women who are at the forefront of this task.”
