The Minister of Popular Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, said that mercenaries aimed to attack the Miraflores Palace regardless of the results of the July 28 elections.
During a session of the National Assembly (AN), Cabello showed part of the conversations via WhatsApp of the captured American soldier, Wilbert Joseph Castañeda, who was in charge of the terrorist operation against the country, with a Venezuelan mercenary who is in the United States, alias El Flaco.
“They (terrorists) were going to Miraflores Palace regardless of the results issued by the National Electoral Council (CNE). Their plan was always violence,” said Cabello.
He specified that they tried to enter the Miraflores Palace through different sectors: Santa Capilla, through La Oleary, La Pastora, Baralt, Armed Forces and Sucre Avenue. “But the organized people made them flee,” he said.
He stressed that the Venezuelan extreme right repeated the same script of April 11 and 12, 2002.
