The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, urged revolutionary leaders this Wednesday to leave aside personal promotions and to think about the collective
“Maximum discipline and leave a little bit, I will say this with all responsibility, to promote ourselves personally. It's not the 'me', it must be the 'us' It must be the collective!” , said Cabello during the closing of the Extraordinary Plenary of the V Congress of the PSUV and the IV Congress of the JPSUV.
In this regard, he gave as an example an old political leader “who went to a wake and expected to be the center of attention and not the dead one (...) he would gather in a corner and call everyone, no one would stop the dead because he arrived. The ego, a disease”.
Cabello urged the leaders of the PSUV to be like Commander Hugo Chávez. “I think that's the best method. So we have to be simple, humble in our treatment, let's be equal to our people. Not similar, not like. Because that's what they do, they try to look like the people. We don't need to try to look like the people, because we are the people,” he said.
