The general secretary of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, warned the
governments of Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana on Monday that our country will respond to any aggression against
the Venezuelan people.
“We have said it, and we assume this
with total and absolute responsibility: Any aggression against Venezuela,
Trinidad and Tobago knows, Guyana knows, what our response will be, and they must know it, we
are not here sucking our finger, no, we know where the
attacks come from, how they come and what bases they are using to attack our people,” he said.
During the PSUV press conference, he
called on those complicit governments of the United States to assume their
responsibility in the face of these interventionist actions.
He also reiterated the complaint about how Trinidad
and Tobago has lent its territory for the covert military operations carried
out by the United States (US) in the Caribbean, in violation of international law.
“These
operations have led to the murder of a few citizens accused, without any
court just because of the opinion of those who carry out the murders, of carrying drugs. These
operations that have been carried out in the Caribbean have had their base of
operations in Trinidad and Tobago; and now they are attacking our country by stealing the
resources that are from Venezuela,” he said.
With regard to the decision of the Bolivarian Government against Trinidad and Tobago on gas, he regretted that the authorities of that country endanger not only good relations with Venezuela, but also the lives of their own people.
