From his Con El Mazo Dando program, the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, sent a message to revolutionary and patriotic youth.
“When President Maduro talks about the five generations, we are the oldest and we have had to fight to live, some left their lives and some of us have come this far. The youth behind us have not had to fight like we do ( ... ),” he said.
In his words, he stated that “the learning of this generation has been through a clean path that has been paved by the forerunner and foundational generation”.
He added that “you can't imagine how many young people in this country were killed for claiming their right to study, for example. The assassins of the police forces took pictures of them at demonstrations and went to their homes at night to look for them and disappear.”
In that vein, he added that the fascist right seeks to attack young people because “today's young people have not been through the work that the foundational and forerunner generations went through (...) We don't want that to happen, but the skin has to be hardened by the experiences of others: the skin, not the heart to endure and not be frightened. Youth are the vanguard in every part of the world in struggles and battles, but we must take sides, because a youth that does not do so is lost and is letting its star moment pass”.
He specified that “the first thing a youth should do is to denounce those who are attacking them and not be left alone. We are never going to abandon them, we are giving our lives for the revolution. May they (the right) crash against the will and conscience of each one of us.”
