Venezuela has more than 5,000 officials from the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the different Public Security Agencies deployed on the border with Colombia to combat organizations in the neighboring country linked to drug trafficking, said the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón.
“We have more than 5 thousand men and women permanently deployed in that hot area that is the border with Colombia. To this we add the special operations we do. We are maintaining a frontal fight against drug trafficking,” he said.
In addition, during the podcast Sin Truco Ni Maña, Cabello explained that Venezuelan authorities are analyzing the navigation devices found on aircraft and boats used by drug traffickers, in order to know the routes they have taken and, in this way, to inflict certain blows on these organizations.
“We're reverse-engineering those organizations, so we've captured more than 32 tons of drugs,” he said.
