Campamento César Rengifo received a day of reading and artistic expression

Boys, girls and young people from the César Rengifo Transitional Camp, in the Altagracia parish of Caracas, enjoyed the first day of August in colors and stories, organized by the Ayacucho Library Foundation.

The activity took as a reference the story Skull, by Rongny Sotillo, included in the National Bicentennial Reading Plan, to combine reading, drawing and creativity exercises.

The artists José Gregorio Cabello and Hugo Vidal accompanied the participants in interpreting the story and creating illustrations inspired by the Naval Battle of the Friars of 1816 and the figure of Simon Bolivar.

“We are bringing the story closer to the illustration. The children make the illustrations of what we see and hear,” Cabello explained during the day.

The program will continue for a month with two weekly meetings, aimed at strengthening the creative and motor skills of the participants. In addition, the activity also included the participation of music teacher Alfredo Angulo, who accompanied the meeting with Venezuelan pieces.
