The Mayor's Office of Caracas and the Government of the Capital District opened the call for the Third Edition of the Children's and Youth Literature Prize 2026, an event aimed at Venezuelan and foreign writers residing in the country in homage to the teacher and writer Josefina Urdaneta.

The competition will award the best works in the narrative genre with first and second place, whose winners will receive financial recognition and the publication of their works, Venezolana de Televisión reviews.

The initiative seeks to recognize the legacy of Josefina Urdaneta, considered a reference in Venezuelan children's literature and a pioneer of modern preschool education, whose work promoted the reading and training of generations of boys and girls through literature.
