Since early this Sunday, citizens of the state of Carabobo have flocked to the voting centers authorized to participate in the Second National Popular Consultation 2025.
On this day, Omar Salazar, community spokesperson, highlighted the importance of this process: “This is a right acquired by the people, by popular power. We have been here since 6:30 in the morning to exercise our right in this consultation. Here we are going to choose two projects: the arrangement of schools and the construction of a communal house of popular power.”
For her part, Beatriz Sánchez, another community spokesperson, highlighted the transformative nature of this initiative: “This right to choose the project that she considers most important for her community is so valuable that it gave us our president Nicolás Maduro. We empower ourselves to realize each and every one of the projects and dreams that we have had for many years as community members. Participation has been massive from a very early age, with older adults and young people taking part in this democratic exercise.”
This democratic event, organized by the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the Ministry of Popular Power for the Communes, seeks to empower communities to decide on priority projects that will directly impact their quality of life.
The Second National Popular Consultation 2025 has the participation of more than 5,336 communes and communal circuits, as well as 47,214 communal councils across the country.
