Carabobo FC and Rayo Zuliano took the lead in the standings of the 2024 Clausura Tournament of the Venezuelan First Division, after the 7 matches corresponding to the second round.
Rayo
Zuliano beat Caracas
FC 2-1 at the Brígida
Iriarte stadium in the capital city.
The winning goals were scored by Gerardo
Padrón in the 38th minute and Andrés Montero in the 55th minute. The discount was made by
Edwuin
Pernía at
74′ penalty.
In
the former
Pueblo Nuevo stadium, San Cristóbal, Deportivo
Táchira beat
Zamora FC 1-0, with
a goal from Mauro Maidana at 78′.
While Carabobo FC thrashed Inter
de Barinas 4-0, at the La Carolina stadium in Barinas, the targets
were scored by
Robert Hernández at 34′, José Balza at 45′, Edson Tortolero at 70′ and Leonardo Aponte at 77′.
For
their part, Academia
Puerto Cabello and Portuguesa FC equalized 0-0 in
La
Bombonerita. With
that same result, the matches between Metropolitanos
FC and UCV FC , Monagas SC and Deportivo La Guaira ended , played at the
stadium in the capital city and at the Monumental de Maturín, respectively.
Meanwhile, at the
Ricardo Tulio Maya stadium in Ciudad Bolívar, Angostura
FC and
Estudiantes de Mérida equalized
1-1, with a goal scored by José
Lovera at
45′ for the locals and Roberto Ordóñez at
23′ for
the visit.
Carabobo FC and Rayo Zuliano lead the standings with 6 points, followed by Táchira, Monagas and UCV with 4 points each, Zamora with 3 points, and Estudiantes de Mérida and La Guaira with 2, close the top 8.
