A total of 1,700 families from the San José de Caracas parish will benefit from the Anauco dam, inaugurated this Tuesday in the Waraira Repano by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez and other authorities, together with the organized popular power, which played a key role in the development of this work.

“We are inaugurating a dam made with the hands of our people,” said the mayor, specifying that the People's Power began organizing the technical water tables and repairing pipes in the neighborhoods and then building works to improve the distribution of the service, including this dam.

“It is a reality that with the water that flows down from the Waraira Repano streams, our town is benefiting from the vital service,” he added, while explaining that it will begin by serving three sectors that were responsible for the project.

In addition, Meléndez reported that the dam has a water treatment plant built by the Hydrological Company of the Capital Region (Hidrocapital) also together with organized popular power, to whom the competence will be transferred to protect the plant and provide security to the dam.

In addition, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency, it indicated that later the project will serve 19 sectors of San José that need to increase the frequency of the water supply.

In another vein, Carmen Meléndez highlighted that through national consultations, the commune has benefited from works such as replacing roofs, providing water tanks, replacing the panels of block 1 in Cotiza, San José.

Additionally, 45 homes were rehabilitated as part of the Point and Circle to benefit the community in a comprehensive way.

The work that began in May 2024 a year later is a concrete reality and is part of the Obratón, which includes 130 works in 130 days of government throughout the country.
