The Mayor's Office of Caracas has set up a collection center to receive materials for the reconstruction of houses damaged by earthquakes, said the burgomaster, Carmen Meléndez.

“If you want to collaborate with material, we have a collection center in Los Flores de Catia. There we are taking what we are acquiring and what the Venezuela Renace Plan gives us,” said the mayor in statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

The local authority said they are analyzing the files of damaged buildings to accelerate their recovery.

“I want our people to feel confident with the Urban Control teams that are deployed. We have searched for the buildings that completely collapsed and all the files that lie in Urban Control and Cadastre,” he said.

Meléndez stressed that there is a staff working on the plans and technical documentation to ensure that each intervention is carried out without bureaucratic procedures, but with an exhaustive verification of structural conditions.

The mayor added that they are already intervening in 11 buildings and parish brigades are working in areas with structural damage.
