Caracas won the U19 National Table Tennis Championship

The Caracas delegation was crowned in the Under-19 National Table Tennis Championship, held from February 9 to 11 at the Hernán Bouchard gymnasium in Barcelona, Anzoátegui, dominating seven of eight competitions. This Thursday, February 12, the adult category begins with the country's top talents, to consolidate the national ranking and strengthen the competitive level.
In the women's division, the Caracas team won the championship after winning 3-2 against Anzoátegui in the grand final, with the outstanding participation of Natacha Mata, who defeated Bárbara Betancourt with 3-2, and repeated a 3-1 victory against Andrea Brito.
While in the men's category , Caracas doubled its crown by beating Carabobo state 3-0, with the dominance of Jonathan Vegas, who beat Mateo Capella 3-0, and Ludwing Gudiño, who contributed to the 3-0 victory against Jhonatan Altuve.
The representatives of La Guaira, Dakota Ferrer and Andrea Pérez, beat the capital's Paola Zerpa and Natacha Mata 3-0 in the final, while Jonathan Vega and Ludwing Perozo, for Caracas, won 3-1 against Moisés Martínez and Mateo Capella from Carabobo.
In the mixed couples category, Mata and Vega de Caracas beat Zerpa and Perozo 3-1, and Ángel Martínez and Gabriela López ranked third in the contest with Betancourt and Eduardo Figuera from Anzoatigua.
Individual rackets
Natacha Mata was crowned in women's singles after beating Dakota Ferrer in the final, in a match that closed 3-2 on the scoreboard; the athlete from the capital showed technical strength, resilience and competitive strength throughout the elimination bracket.
For his part, Vega added another title to Caracas by beating his teammate Perozo 3-1 in the final, at the same time that Ángel Martínez completed the capital's podium.
The capital city dominated seven modalities, taking first place in the medal table of the contest with seven golds, three silvers and two bronzes, followed by La Guaira (1 O, 2 P, 1 B) and Anzoátegui (1 P, 4 B).
